June Pagliaccio has a background which includes both journalism and publishing in New Zealand and Australia.
She now lives in the Gold Coast Hinterland and is a full time carer for her husband.
When Alzheimer’s entered their lives, June found a lack of resources for younger family members to understand the changes dementia brings and My Grandpa Has Dementia was born.
June is passionate about increasing understanding and tolerance of all dementia related illnesses within the community.

These days, Tasmanian-born Maxine Stewart lives on Queensland’s Southern Downs with her husband and their two miniature dachshunds.
After many years in the publishing industry, Maxine and her paramedic husband made a tree-change from the Gold Coast to a quieter rural setting where she has been able to concentrate on her love of the visual arts.
Having met in the workplace 20 years ago, Maxine and June have remained firm friends and she was more than happy when June asked her to illustrate her book, My Grandpa Has Dementia. Maxine believes this book will make a difficult situation a little easier by helping grandchild and grandparent maintain a close relationship.
