A Community Arts Project from Denmark, Western Australia

“Along the edges, voices call softly, softly… the past speaking to the present.”

Solace+Yearning is a beautiful and intriguing performance created by community members from the small Western Australian town of Denmark.  The sell-out hit of 2012 Brave New Works festival, this book provides insights into a unique project that gently explores the guilt and hope woven into Australia’s story.

“Deeply moving, poignant, beautifully conceived and exquisitely presented.  A triumph!” – 2012 Audience review

This e-book includes evocative photographs, extracts of the script and commentary from the project’s Artistic Director, Annette Carmichael; Writing Facilitator, Nicola-Jane le Breton; and, community participant, Janine McCrum.
