Liam the Superhero is the first in The Cochlear Kids series of books from author Heidi Dredge. Heidi is passionate about creating entertaining and informative narratives that help children (and adults!) understand hearing loss and cochlear implants. Heidi’s characters and stories are full of warmth and inspiration which remind us all that children with cochlear implants are just like other kids, and with determination and commitment, can learn to listen and speak like their normal-hearing peers!
Heidi lives in Brisbane, Australia with her husband and two young kids. Her eldest daughter has a cochlear implant and a hearing aid, and thanks to early intervention with Auditory Verbal Therapy, her listening and spoken language skills are out of this world!

We love it! Beautifully written and illustrated. My 5 year old son has a cochlear and we have always referred to it as super hearing. We have had the book for 2 weeks now and have read it every night since. I wish you could see how his face lights up during the story. He now reads it with me word for word and his 2 year old sister loves it too!

My six year old son who has a cochlear implant absolutely loves it. We read it every day. He loves it so much that he took it to school so the teacher could read it to all his class mates. Thank you so much Heidi for such a fantastic book!!!
