Gynaecological Oncologist, Mercy Hospital for Women
David Allen has been working in the Department of Gynaecological Oncology at Mercy Hospital for Women since 1991. He trained as a Gynaecological Oncologist in Australia and the Netherlands. He also completed a PhD at the University of Utrecht under the supervision of Professors Peter Heintz and James Scurry. David is Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery and Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Melbourne.
Genevieve Green
BA(Hons), BSW, PhD
Genevieve Green is an Oncology Social Worker at Mercy Hospital for Women in Melbourne, Australia. She has a PhD in philosophy and a long term interest in exploring what serious illness can reveal about human life. Extensive experience supporting patients as they navigate a life-threatening diagnosis and treatment has informed her contribution to Lives Interrupted. Genevieve Green is married to the philosopher Richard Green. They have four children and eleven grandchildren.
