Steve Wallace wants to be left alone with a bottle of
Jack Daniels and his nightmares. But flashbacks from his
war-torn past are blurring into reality. Did he really
just kill two Taliban soldiers here in rural western
Queensland, or was that a hallucination? Is he being
paranoid, or is something sinister afoot?
Intel officers at the National Security Centre in Canberra
are twiddling their thumbs. And why wouldn't they?
Everything is quiet on the coms, except for some grizzled
alcoholic with PTSD raving about a terror plot.
Meanwhile, one of the most sophisticated terror networks
Australia has ever seen prepares to strike. A cynical
captain ships Afghani fighters from Indonesia. A Moslem
brother stalks Underwater World with a lethal gift for the
infidels. Catastrophe is only a heartbeat away.
Reluctant but compelled, Steve steps back into the war he
worked so hard to escape.
David Adams served as an Officer in the Australian Army Reserve, trained alongside United States Marines Corps and Special Air Services SAS personnel, and served in the A.D.F as a Platoon Commander of Military Police. In his spare time, he fossicks for gold and historical artefacts and hunts feral animals in rugged Australian bushland. ‘Terror in Our Homeland’ is his first novel.
