Try and Try Again |
Don Ellis |
A personal story of persistence and tenacity through the changing landscape of Western Australia.
Don’s story is not just a biography, but a first-hand account of an interesting life in the great state of Western Australia.
Starting with his early childhood on a dairy farm in Harvey in 1932 when horse and cart were the standard mode of transport, through the challenges of Plantation farming in Carnarvon and in the Wheatbelt. On to the early years of Cray fishing that had more in common with the wild west of America than the civilised profession it is today.
He finally settled to a suburban life of bricklaying and raising a family, however his adventures did not stop there, as his love of the sea provides more memorable tales.
Don was always looking for the next great thing …
Try and Try Again is a personal journey well worth the read.
Don Ellis has lived many lives and working in farming, trucking, cray fishing and finally bricklaying. Writing his personal biography became a mission that started in 2001, with the idea a writing a short story. Through many attempt and persistence the book has come to life.
