as you were saying |
The artists - Claire Best, Jessica Crowe and Melissa Deerson - look at the sparks that are generated by unexpected connections between groups, individuals and the creative urge. As the collective ‘As You Were Saying’, they play with communication and creativity in everyday situations, reimagining the life of the city and its people in drawings, documentations, events and collections that are in turn beautiful, dark, absurd and witty.
Unafraid to hang out in the trophy room of dad
jokes and the dive bars of bad taste, these artists
see themselves as translators and soothsayers,
interested in taking the mundane parts of
everyday life and finding kernels of the extraordinary.
The Janet Holmes à Court Artists’ Grant is a NAVA initiative, made possible
